Client’s challenge
At the stage of developing the design of a real car with an internal combustion engine, the client needed prototypes of the housings at a 20:1 scale. The parts were required for visual evaluation and further refinement of the design. Therefore, the finished models had to be printed without support structures, with minimal shrinkage and high precision.
Solution
The client contacted Makerly and ordered printing on the industrial HP Jet Fusion 5210 3D printing line using MJF technology. Polyamide PA 12 S was selected as the production material. This technology, combined with a modern material, ensures high precision, detail resolution up to 1200 DPI, and a layer thickness of up to 80 μm. The finished parts feature high strength and stable performance under mechanical loads, moisture, chemical exposure, and ultraviolet radiation.
Result

The set of two parts was manufactured and delivered to the client within five business days. The components were precise, with the specified surface texture and required technical characteristics.
Thanks to Makerly, the client received a set of prototypes at a reasonable cost and in a short timeframe.
