“Scanner” is a Ukrainian scientific and engineering center with more than 30 years of experience in the development and manufacture of opto-mechanical medical devices. The company specializes in diagnostic and surgical microscopes and colposcopes. The company’s products are supplied to the Ukrainian and international markets.
Customer Request
The customer needed a housing for the optical head tilt interface to be manufactured using 3D printing. The reason for the request was the search for a manufacturer who would meet the required quality and geometric specifications of the part. Previously, the customer had contacted another company that uses a similar 3D-printing technology; however, the sample parts had unsatisfactory surface roughness, which led to increased labor required to finish the component to an appropriate commercial appearance.
Solution
The company’s representatives turned to Makerly for assistance and provided 3D models for printing. The parts were manufactured using the industrial HP Jet Fusion 5210 3D printing line and HP PA 12 W polyamide. This technology enables the production of strong parts with high detail resolution — up to 1200 DPI, while the material provides a smooth white surface, allowing the printed components to be used without additional post-processing.
Result

The customer received the required product within 7 business days. The finished part fully met the customer’s requirements.
