Customer’s Problem
For precise balancing and pointing of the telescope, the client needed an alignment assembly consisting of 8 parts with complex geometries. The client had previously attempted to print the parts using FDM technology, but it did not provide the required quality. SLS technology was also used, but parts produced this way quickly lost their technical properties.
Solution
The client turned to Makerly and ordered printing on an industrial HP Jet Fusion 5210 3D-printing line using MJF technology. HP PA 12 polyamide was chosen as the material. The combination of this technology and modern material makes it possible to produce strong and durable parts of any geometric complexity. These components are resistant to mechanical stress, moisture, chemicals, and ultraviolet exposure.
Result

The entire set of parts was printed and shipped to the client within 5 working days. The customer received components that fully met the technical requirements while also saving time and money.
